Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Rain or Rainbow

For this week Cees Fun Foto Challenge: Rain or Rainbow I have chosen for you few photos from Iceland.

The first two are taken at the South Iceland almost at the same place, the same time of year, but 2 years difference (2015 and 2017).

These four were all taken in Gullfoss, 3 of them are with rainbow (2001, 2016, 2017) and one (2015) with rain :-).

Couple of years ago I posted about Rainbow above Prague and you can find my post with pictures here :-).

And one about Rainbow colors here and about Water here.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Signs

What else it can be for Signs photo challenge, than Prague’s house signs.

Before there was numbering of buildings, there were house signs, which gave names to the buildings. I already told you, that it is really important to look up in Prague, that you will find something interesting on the building above your head. Here I have a collection of house signs for you, from the Little Quarter mostly, some of them from the Old Town. In Prague you will find many more :-).

Just a few of them

This shot reminds me of going to vacation. When we travel to Italy, we always go by Innsbruck and we always stop at the Rosenberger restaurant on the highway there. They have these signs in the garden.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Bridges

For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Bridges I want to show you two “bridges” in Prague. The first one is on the river, very close to the Charles bridge.

Novotného lávka (Novotny’s Gangoard)

This place is not called bridge (“most” in Czech), but gangoard (“lávka” in Czech). Maybe you have heard about it, because there is the famouse music club Lávka, the biggest club in middle Europe. Also you will find there a museum of well known Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, who made beautiful music poem My Country, where one of the pieces is called “Vltava river”.

View from the gangoard to Vltava river and Smetana’s Embankment

You can go there to rest, to make shots with the most famouse view to Prague with Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, to eat in the restaurant, to visit the museum, to the club for dance or performance. You can go there to enjoy.

Smetana statue and the gangoard

You can watch the river flow and to observe all the boats on the river, or think out what kind of art is the row of yellow penguins on the other side of the river by the Kampa Museum, specially at the evening, when they are enlightened.

Můstek (Little Bridge)

The second bridge is in the middle of the city. At the border between The Old Town and the New Town, where used to be ramparts and the moat. Bottom of the Wenceslas Square is still called Little Bridge and you can find underground station there called the same (Můstek).

Můstek, the bottom of the Wenceslas Square

The place is used as a meeting place, the second most used by locals, after the one on the top of the Wenceslas Square called “under the tail”.

Up and bellow

The old bridge is from the first half of the 15th century, when it was built over the half covered moat between the Old and New Towns. The bridge was set aside around 1463, and there used to be a cellar under the bridge. When the underground was built, bridge was uncovered and you can see it when you go to the subway.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Walks Indoors or Outdoors

Let me show you few shots from brilliant place in Moravia – Kroměříž Gardens. I chose them for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Walks Indoors or Outdoors and I hope you will like them and maybe you will visit the place as well :-).

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Stairs or steps

From our previous Cee’s Challenge we stay at island Madeira, now at the Palheiro Gardens. It is a small heaven on the eart, but also here you can find a little hell, the first stairs (top left) are leading there. But don’t be afraid, heaven is just behind the bushes :-).

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Textures

I chose a bit different textures for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Textures.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Lines

For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Lines I have just 4 shots for you, all from this winter in Prague.

Small detail of the bar at the Old Town Square on the very rare occassion that sun was shining (20 hours during the whole winter). When it shines, it is so beautiful!

Prague Old Town Square – detail

The winter was (still is) very cold this year in Prague, despite the few hours of sunshine there is still some snow on the streets and at the gardens, specially where the shadow is. That’s what I like on this shot, the snow lines in the garden :-).

Here was even more snow, stair/snow lines at Prague Castle at the stairs to the garden Na Baště.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Squares and Angles

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge was very difficult  for me, I was almost going to skip it. I was going through my archives not being able to find something interesting. But then I did it. I found a nice collection of details of the walls of my beloved renaissance town of Český Krumlov. Look at some of my previous blog about the town, it is really worth seeing: Festival of Five Petalled Rose, Colors of South Bohemia or Roads in South Bohemia.

Cesky Krumlov buildings

Decorated renaissance buildings in Český Krumlov

For Squares and Angles I chose the renaissance details of the building walls. Now we call them “envelopes”, but originally they were ment as 2D projection of 3D stone, of which the buildings were built in antique architecture, as you can see at this old original building in Rome at Forum Romanum (left side of the shot).

And here is the collection of squares and angles for you.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: One Color of My Choice

For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Color of Your Choice: Pick one color by Cee Neuner I was not able to choose one color. I was thinking and thinking, and finaly I come up with the color I call: pink-yellow-cream-lila-orange and it is my most favorite color of Prague’s streets. See the following galleries and you must admit that the color is just beautiful and it fits Prague greatly, doesn’t matter if it’s sun-drenched or sugerred with snow. And also it goes well with my blog theme :-).
